Cortina d’Ampezzo, known as the Queen of the Dolomites, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located 1224 meters above sea level, and owes its fame to the 1956 Winter Olympics.

HOW CAN YOU GET THERE?

One of the most famous tourist destinations in the Italian Mountains, Cortina d’Ampezzo is situated in the north east of the Veneto region, about 72km from the city of Belluno and only 44km from the Austrian border.  The best route to take by car is from the North or the South via Italian Highway SS51.

The nearest Italian airports are Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) 150km away, Venice Treviso Airport (TSF) 140km away and Trieste Airport (TRS) 200km away.  Innsbruck Airport is just over the border, 165km away.  A daily bus service runs from Venice airport to Cortina in a little over than two hours.

• Accommodation at an Official Race Hotel near the Event Village – stay in a convenient location with other like-minded athletes and supporters, creating a real community feel and atmosphere

OPTION 2 – For races that start and end in different locations

• Accommodation at an Official Race Hotel near the start line before your race  – Avoid race day shuttles and adjust yourself to the altitude ahead of your race
• Transport of your luggage, and any supporters, from the start line to the finish line, whilst you are on the run course
• Accommodation at an Official Race Hotel near the finish line atfer your race – your room will be ready on arrival so no matter what time you finish, a hot shower and a soft bed, plus your luggage, will be waiting for you
