Over its 20-year history, Nirvana has gone from having a single product offering as the Official Great North Run (world’s biggest half marathon) accommodation partner, to a strategic partner of some of the world’s biggest sporting events and their athletes.
IRONMAN
Since 2005, we have been proud to be the Official Travel Partner to the European IRONMAN Tour. Whoever finishes first, we’ll call him the IRONMAN. During an awards banquet for the Waikiki Swim Club, John Collins, a Naval Officer stationed in Hawaii, and his wife Judy, began playing with the idea of combining the three toughest endurance races on the island into one race. They decided to issue a challenge to see who the toughest athletes were: swimmers, bikers, or runners. On February 18, 1978, 15 competitors, including Collins, came to the shores of Waikiki to take on the first-ever IRONMAN challenge.
British Triathlon
Since 2002, we have been proud to be the Official British Triathlon Federation Age-Group Team Travel Partner. British Triathlon is now a Federation, whose members are the Home Nation’s Associations of Triathlon England, Triathlon Scotland and Welsh Triathlon. British Triathlon is responsible for matters such as the Great Britain Elite, Paratriathlon and Age-Group Teams, British and International events, Anti-Doping and International Representation. British Triathlon also manages a number of services that are shared with the three Home Nations.
World Triathlon
World Triathlon is the international governing body for the multi-sport disciplines of triathlon, duathlon, aquathlon and other nonstandard variations. World Triathlon host the top level international races: the World Triathlon Series and the World Triathlon World Cup.
USA Triathlon
Nirvana is delighted to join forces with USA Triathlon as Official Travel Partner. USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the multisport disciplines of triathlon, duathlon, aquathlon and winter triathlon in the United States. Triathletes from all over America can now enjoy stress-free travel, whilst exploring some of the world’s most breathtaking event destinations with Nirvana.
UTMB
Uniting the sport’s biggest stars and amateur runners through the best, leading international events in the most stunning locations, the UTMB World Series gives all trail runners the chance to experience the UTMB adventure across the world, with 39 events taking place across Asia, Oceania, Europe, Africa and the Americas in 2023. It is the only place where runners can begin their quest to Dacia UTMB Mont-Blanc, where the prestigious UTMB World Series Finals will be held.
Great Run
Since 1999, we have been proud to be the Official Travel Partner to the Great Run Event Series. The Great Run Company specialise in the development, design, organisation and rights management of mass participation and televised sporting events. The journey began when Sir Brendan Foster CBE was inspired to take up running after watching a barefoot Abebe Bikila win the 1960 Olympic Marathon in Rome. He founded the first Great North Run in 1981 and still presides over the event as its President. Since then, the event has grown from strength to strength and earned the title “The World’s Greatest Half Marathon”, with over 60,000 runners taking to the streets of Newcastle in 2022. Using the formula of the Great North Run, the company now stages a full programme of mass participation events across the UK.
Celtic
Since 2017 Nirvana Europe has been working with Celtic FC Travel offering an official fan charter for Season Ticket holders looking to back the Bhoys in their UEFA Champions League / Europa League campaigns. The collaboration will offer supporters the following benefits:
- A seat on the official charter departing from either Glasgow or Prestwick Airport;
- Overseas transfers, airport to stadium;
- Club stewards and escorts throughout;
- All taxes, charges and ATOL bonding;
- Matchday tickets.

With this new partnership, Nirvana will continue its commitment to the sport and strengthen its offerings to help Brownlee Fitness offer personalised training programs and coaching sessions to its members.
